SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS

Kids’ Orchestra currently provides after-school music education and tutoring services to students from 21 different schools across 11 teaching sites in Baton Rouge.

TRADITIONAL AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

Students enrolled in traditional Kids’ Orchestra programming meet twice a week from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. They begin with a healthy snack and homework help, then break off into group instrument lessons.

BUCHANAN ELEMENTARY

Students from Buchanan Elementary, BRFLAIM Mayflower, and BRFLAIM Polk meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Buchanan Elementary is located at 1222 E. Buchanan St.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Buchanan for BRFLAIM students (both campuses).

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered include Foundations, Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, and Percussion.

LASALLE ELEMENTARY

Lasalle

Students from LaSalle Elementary meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

LaSalle Elementary is located at 8000 LaSalle Ave.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered include Foundations, Violin, Viola, Bass, Trumpet, and Percussion.

MAGNOLIA WOODS ELEMENTARY

Students from Magnolia Woods Elementary and Wildwood Elementary meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Magnolia Woods is located at 760 Maxine Dr.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Magnolia Woods for Wildwood students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered include Foundations, Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, and Percussion.

MAYFAIR LABORATORY SCHOOL

Students from Mayfair Laboratory School meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Mayfair Magnet Elementary is located at 9880 Hyacinth Ave.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered include Foundations, Violin, Viola, Flute, Trumpet and Percussion.

DUFROCQ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Students from Dufrocq Elementary School and St. James Episcopal Day School meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Dufrocq is located 330 South 19th St.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Dufrocq for St. James students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered include Foundations, Violin, Bass, Flute, and Percussion.

WESTDALE HEIGHTS ACADEMIC MAGNET

Students from Westdale Heights Academic Magnet and LSU Laboratory School meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Westdale Heights is located at 2000 College Dr.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Westdale for LSU Lab students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered include Foundations, Violin, Viola, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, and Percussion.

BATON ROUGE UNIVERSITY PREPARATORY ELEMENTARY

Students from Baton Rouge University Preparatory Elementary meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

University Preparatory is located at 5300 Monarch Ave.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered include Foundations.

KIDS’ ORCHESTRA 21ST CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS

In addition to the traditional Kids’ Orchestra curriculum, students at 21st Century sites receive enhanced academic enrichment and test preparation tutoring. Students meet Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

CAPITOL ELEMENTARY

Students from Capitol Elementary, Bernard Terrace Elementary, and GEO Prep Academy meet four days a week from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Capitol Elementary is located at 4141 Gus Young Ave.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Capitol Elementary for Bernard Terrace Elementary and GEO Prep Academy students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Capitol Elementary offers 2nd-5th grade students the option to join either the string ensemble (violin, viola, cello) or wind ensemble (flute, clarinet, trumpet, percussion). K-1st grade students participate in Foundations.

CLAIBORNE ELEMENTARY

Students from Claiborne Elementary, Redemptorist Elementary and Sharon Hills Elementary meet four days a week from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Claiborne Elementary is located at 4700 Denham St.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Claiborne Elementary for Redemptorist and Sharon Hills.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Claiborne Elementary offers 2nd-5th grade students the option join either the string ensemble (violin, viola, cello) or wind ensemble (flute, clarinet, trumpet, percussion). K-1st grade students participate in Foundations.

RYAN ELEMENTARY

Students from Ryan Elementary, Brownfields Elementary, and J.K. Haynes Elementary meet four days a week from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Ryan Elementary is located at 10337 Elm Grove Garden.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Ryan Elementary for Brownfields and J.K. Haynes students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Ryan Elementary offers 2nd-5th grade students the option to join either the string ensemble (violin, viola, cello) or wind ensemble (flute, clarinet, trumpet, percussion). K-1st grade participate in Foundations.

KIDS’ ORCHESTRA KIDS’ CHOIR

All 2nd-6th grade students in the Greater Baton Rouge area are invited to participate in the Kids’ Choir. Students participate in group voice lessons and perform as an ensemble.

INDEPENDENCE PARK THEATRE

Kids’ Choir students meet every Monday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Independence Park Theatre is located at 7800 Independence Blvd.

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from rehearsal.
