Kids’ Orchestra is a fee-based program that uses a sliding scale tuition model according to family income. Full tuition without any assistance is $1,000 per child per year. With generous support from donors, all students receive a base-level scholarship of $400 per year. This helps to cover registration costs, instrument rental and supplies, healthy snacks, mentorship and homework help, instruction, a t-shirt, and transportation.

As a non-profit organization, parent and community investment is vital to the sustainability and continued success of our program, though Kids’ Orchestra strives to provide as much assistance as possible for qualified families enrolled in our programming. We accommodate all students who are accepted into our program, regardless of household income.

Scholarships

To determine a family’s scholarship level, proof of income is required. Acceptable forms include a SNAP benefit verification letter, a most recent tax return, a W2, an SSI benefit verification letter, one month of recent paychecks for all adult members of the family, or an official letter from your employer, pension, or retirement.

**Monthly payments at the $980 scholarship level may only be made if a family is paying for 2+ children. Payments for one child at this scholarship level must be made in a one-semester payment of $10.

Payment Plans

Monthly payments must be made by the 15th of each month. If you are paying by semester, payment must be made by September 15 and February 15. If payment is not received by the 15th of the month, your child will not be allowed to take their instrument home.

Cancellations and Refunds

Kids’ Orchestra does not issue a refund for any semester or month already in progress.

Tuition Payment Methods

Preferred forms of payment include

  • Check, cash, or money order delivered to 460 Florida St. between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Payments may also be brought to your child’s school office as permitted to be placed in the Kids’ Orchestra collection envelope. Please call (225) 922-4656 to verify that this is an option for your child’s school.

All payments must be labeled with your child’s name and school.

Please do not bring payment to your child’s Kids’ Orchestra program staff. All onsite payments must be made in the school office as permitted.
