2018-19 applications are now being accepted!

July 1 – 2018-2019 Application Period Opens
July 31 – Returning students will automatically be accepted if a 2018-19 application is submitted by this date.
August 1 – Remaining spots will be awarded through a lottery drawing with sibling groups considered together.
August 7 – Parents will be notified of their child’s acceptance. If applying for a tuition scholarship, income verification documentation is due.
Week of August 21 – 21st CCLC programming begins.
September 1 – Scholarship Proof of Income due.
Week of September 4 – Traditional programming begins.
September 4 – Final date to submit first tuition payment.
October 11 – Last day to apply for FALL semester.
Any students not accepted during the lottery process or who apply after choir is full will be placed on a wait list. If a spot becomes available, students will be chosen from the wait list in the order in which they applied. Sibling groups will be considered together to the extent that it is possible.
About Kids’ Orchestra Program
Twice a week throughout the school year, nearly 800 East Baton Rouge Parish elementary students receive afterschool group music lessons instructed by professional teaching artists. Kids’ Orchestra offers violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, percussion, and a music foundations class for K-1 students. Instrument offerings vary at each location.
Kids’ Orchestra is open to all K-5th grade students in Baton Rouge and the surrounding area.
