2019 Winter Neighborhood Concert Series: December 9 – December 12

The Neighborhood Concert Series is Kids’ Orchestra’s signature concert program that bookends each semester in the winter and spring and celebrates our students’ progress and achievements. The Neighborhood Concert Series allows our students to showcase the musical skills they have developed in our afterschool program and perform for an audience made up of their family, friends, and community members.

Students from our 6 program sites perform 1-3 simple musical pieces in their respective music groups: Foundations, violin, viola, cello, double bass, clarinet, percussion, trumpet, trombone, and flute.

The 2019 Winter Neighborhood Concert Series will include not only musical performances but also short informational presentations to highlight core topics found in our afterschool music program.

The 2019 Winter Neighborhood Concert Series performances begin at 5:30 pm and are free and open to the public:

  • December 9: LaSalle Elementary Program Site (8000 Lasalle Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70806)

  • December 9: Park Ridge Academic Magnet School Program Site (5905 Groom Rd, Baker, LA 70714)

  • December 10: Zachary Elementary Program Site (3775 Hemlock St, Zachary, LA 70791)

  • December 10: Westdale Heights Academic Magnet School Program Site (2000 College Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70808)

  • December 11: Baton Rouge Foreign Language Academic Immersion Magnet Program Site (4510 Bawell St, Baton Rouge, LA 70808)

  • December 12: Dufrocq Elementary School Program Site (330 S 19th St, Baton Rouge, LA 70806)

Knock Knock Children’s Museum Community Concert: December 15, 2019

Please join us for a family-friendly musical afternoon at Knock Knock Children’s Museum!

Kids’ Orchestra students will perform on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Knock Knock Children’s Museum (1900 Dalrymple Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70808; located within City-Brooks Community Park).

This special performance is free and open to the public. Following the performance, visitors are welcome to buy a ticket to the museum and explore current exhibits.
