SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS

TRADITIONAL AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

Students enrolled in traditional Kids’ Orchestra programming meet twice a week from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. They begin with a healthy snack and homework help, then break off into group instrument lessons.

Students from LaSalle Elementary and Audubon Elementary meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

LaSalle Elementary is located at 8000 LaSalle Ave.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from LaSalle Elementary for Audubon students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered will be determined prior to the program start date.

Kids Orchestra will be held at Park Ridge Academic Magnet School (PRAMS) on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Program will now go beyond Kindergarten & 1st grade Foundations to include 2nd through 5th grade with instrument learning.

Transportation will be provided to students at Baker Heights Elementary School and Bakerfields Elementary School.

PRAMS is located at 5905 Groom Rd, Baker, LA 70714.

Students from Zachary Elementary School meet on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Zachary Elementary is located at 3775 Hemlock St, Zachary, LA 70791.

Kids’ Orchestra will offer a variety of instruments to be decided closer to program beginning.

Students from BR FLAIM will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

BR FLIAM is located at 4510 Bawell St, Baton Rouge, LA 70808

Kids’ Orchestra will offer a variety of instruments to be decided closer to program beginning.

Students from The Dufrocq School and Buchanan Elementary meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Dufrocq is located 330 South 19th St.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Dufrocq for Buchanan students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered will be determined prior to the program start date.

Students from Westdale Heights Academic Magnet and BR FLAIM meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Westdale Heights is located at 2000 College Dr.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered will be determined prior to the program start date.

KIDS’ ORCHESTRA 21ST CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS

In addition to the traditional Kids’ Orchestra curriculum, students at 21st Century sites receive enhanced academic enrichment and test preparation tutoring. Students meet Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Students from Claiborne Elementary, Merrydale Elementary, Redemptorist Elementary and Brighter Horizon School meet four days a week from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Claiborne Elementary is located at 4700 Denham St.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Claiborne Elementary, Merrydale Elementary and  Redemptorist students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.  Brighter Horizon School does not receive transportation.

Classes offered will be determined prior to the program start date.

Students from Greenbrier Elementary, Park Forest, and Glen Oaks Park Elementary meet four days a week from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Greenbrier Elementary is located at 12203 Canterbury Drive.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Greenbrier Elementary for Park Forest and Glen Oaks Park students.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered will be determined prior to the program start date.

Students from Ryan Elementary, Brownfields Elementary, Progress Elementary meet four days a week from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Ryan Elementary is located at 10337 Elm Grove Garden.

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Ryan Elementary for Brownfields and Progress Elementary.  Southern Laboratory Schools can participate, no transportation is provided.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered will be determined prior to the program start date.

Students from Park Elementary, Bernard Terrace Elementary and Children’s Charter meet four days a week from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Park Elementary

Kids’ Orchestra provides transportation to and from Park Elementary for Brownfields and Progress Elementary.

Students from other schools are welcome to register, but transportation is not provided.

Classes offered will be determined prior to the program start date.

KIDS’ CHOIR

                                   

The Kids’ Choir Program is the choral music program branch of the Kids’ Orchestra organization. In its fourth year, the program provides nearly 100 students the opportunity to study music literacy and sing in a choir. Kids’ Choir students perform in at least two informal concerts/year and are invited to perform at select community performances throughout the year.

The Kids’ Choir Program is comprised of two groups organized by age: Mini-Musicians (K-1st) and Kids’ Choir (2nd-6th). Kids’ Choir is open to all K-6th grade students in Baton Rouge and the surrounding area.

Kids’ Choir students meet every Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

First United Methodist Church is located at 930 North Blvd.  Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from rehearsal.
